Dignitas Announces Contract Award for Investigation of Advanced Weather Effects

Posted on February 20, 2013

Dignitas Technologies has been awarded a contract for prototyping and transitioning advanced weather effects capabilities. The overarching Environmental Representation Data and Effects (ERDE) effort, managed by the Modeling and Simulation Steering Committee Office (MSCO), is seeking to improve weather simulation capabilities. Key ERDE related technologies include the Environmental Data Cube Support System (EDCSS) and the Fast All-season Soil Strength (FASST) model hypercube. In collaboration with the US Army Research Laboratory’s Simulation and Training Technology Center and Edgewise Technologies, Dignitas developers will be seeking transition opportunities for ERDE technologies into Army Modeling and Simulation (M&S) programs. Dignitas’ efforts will ensure that the ERDE technologies are tailored to Army M&S needs and provide maximum benefit in that community. This work will leverage Dignitas’ extensive experience with OneSAF as well as the Dynamic Terrain (DT) Testbed. Many possible prototyping opportunities will be investigated, but an early area of interest will be enhancing the DT Testbed’s construction equipment simulation capabilities with FASST Hypercube functionality, thus merging digging simulation with advanced weather/soil characteristics.

Dignitas Technologies, established in 2004, is dedicated to understanding customer Modeling, Simulation, & Training (MS&T) needs and providing specialized, architecture-centric, agile solutions. We specialize in system and software analysis, design, development, testing, and fielding of MS&T and mission rehearsal applications.
