Dignitas Technologies announced today that Florida Governor Rick Scott visited their facilities on June 20th. During the visit, Gov. Scott hosted a press conference in the Dignitas facilities and presented the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award to Dignitas Technologies CEO Elizabeth Burch for her dedication to Florida businesses. Gov. Scott recognized Elizabeth for her award of the Florida Woman Owned Small Business Person of the year and her as a 2013 honoree for Women Who Mean Business. In addition Elizabeth was a member of the 2012 and 2013 Service Academy Nomination Board for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. Gov. Scott also noted Dignitas’ rapid growth in recent years.

Gov. Scott used this opportunity to visit the Dignitas facilities to get a better understanding of the local modeling and simulation industry. He viewed a brief demonstration of Dignitas’ dynamic terrain and construction equipment simulation, as an example of technology spanning military and commercial applications. Also, he highlighted the positive employment numbers for the month of May.

“Being located in Central Florida, which is the national center of excellence for simulation, has been beneficial to our business since this is where our primary Army, Navy and Marine customers are located. UCF is also close by to support us in providing excellent interns and graduates from both the Engineering and Business departments. This industry provides high paying jobs to our community” said Burch during the presentation. “We want to thank the State for providing us programs that have helped solidify our business infrastructure. The UCF Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been an excellent asset to our business in providing an advisory board”. Elizabeth is now supporting the State as an Advisor on the Florida SBDC Network which will allow the modeling and simulation industry to provide feedback to the State on what areas can be continued to improve upon in supporting small businesses.
